I am a wife, mother, Mamoo, daughter, sister, friend, employee and student.
Family and friends nurture my heart.
Work and study strengthen my mind.
But ballet? Ballet nourishes my soul.
My love of ballet was born at a very young age. Many fond childhood memories are attached to visits to the theatre to enjoy performances by the Australian Ballet, The Leningrad Kirov Ballet and the Tchaikovsky Ballet Company. I am old enough to have seen Mikhail Baryshnikov and Rudolf Nureyev in their prime, along with Marilyn Rowe, David McAllister, Garth Welsh and Sir Robert Helpmann and young enough to remember.
From some of ballet’s greatest contributors
Ballet is a dance executed by the human soul.
Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837)

What makes a great dancer is not technique. What makes a great dancer is passion
Martha Graham (1894-1991)

When a body moves, it’s the most revealing thing. Dance for me a minute, and I’ll tell you who you are.
Mikhail Baryshnikov (1948 – )
